Observations from last Thursday’s Bloc Party show and Friday’s Irrelevant show:
-Laser light shows are friggin’ cool. Period.
-Said laser light shows would be significantly more awesome if I was on the same drugs as the spasming twats next to me.
-Festival hall security are still soulless creeps devoid of any incapable of independent or rational thought.
-Dudes resembling a shirtless Henry Rollins circa Black Flag 1983 enjoy crowd surfing at Bloc Party shows. Who knew?
-Mary Jane Kelly are in possession of one kickass band name, an impressive EP and an aesthetically pleasing front man.
-Does anyone enjoy instrumental jams live? Is anyone NOT compelled to literally drown themselves in their pot glass at the first hint of rambling atmospherics? -I love Irrelevant, but they seemed ready to call it a day. That, and I suspect we’ll be seeing them at a surprise reunion show at the Arthouse in around 18 months.
