Last week KoRn announced that they’d be bringing their world tour to our shores. The “Bitch We Have A Problem” tour will arrive in Melbourne on April 18 at Vodafone ARena. ‘Bitch, We Have A Problem’? Are you serious? Are you super serious? Cos the only way I’m seeing this as an inoffensive gesture is during some booze-fuelled politically incorrect shit-talking (“Oh you want the last spring roll too?….Bitch, we have a motherfucking problem”. Lolz ensue etc etc), but knowing KoRn’s lack of comical flair in the past, I’m gonna assume this is indeed an outdated attempt at being a hardarsed bigoted mofos. FAIL. I can’t help but feel that not only is the time for novelty revivals through, but the time for badass metal accompanied by angry little man lyrics should also wind to a halt. The need for music with heavy lashings of double kick and ‘distorted-to-the-point-of-inaudible’ guitar will always remain and is completely justified given the therapeutic capabilities of the two. But can we stop with the pissy lyrics? Shroud the angst in metaphors if you will, but aggressive lyrics reek of illiterate ramblings of immature twats perpetually perturbed by their lot in life. Maybe I’ve made a nosedive into mature territory, or maybe I’ve been listening to too much Gaslight Anthem. Nothing is currently comparing to the sheer awesomeness of this band and their album Sink Or Swim and fans are currently being inundated with new material after Resist recently released EP Senor And The Queen. Tour now please?

I didn't realize Gaslight had made it that far out! LOVE that band and I'm seeing them play a "secret" show on Sunday here in fact. Not to sound cocky but their drummer Benny is an old friend of mine. Known that kid for years and am so fucking proud of him for being in a band that's doing so well. I'll make sure to tell him on Sunday that Aussies want to see them! maybe that'll get them to come out your way.
